Susan Hochbaum opened her design business in 1995, having spent fifteen years with Pentagram, an international design consultancy. There she worked as a senior project designer, and was appointed Pentagram’s first American Associate Partner.

Susan has developed identity systems, promotional design, and communications programs for clients in a variety of industries. Her work has included graphic identities for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Estée Lauder, and Elektra Entertainment. She has also designed annual reports and communications materials for clients such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Warner Communications (Time Warner), National Audubon Society, and MCI. Most recently she served as Creative Director and VP of Creative Services at Party City, the country’s largest retailer of party supplies, where she led the company’s brand revitalization effort.

Susan’s work has won numerous national awards from the American Institute of Graphic Arts, New York Art Directors Club, and the Society of Publication Designers. She has been recognized in national and international design publications including Graphis, Communication Arts, and Print Magazine.

Susan received her BS from Cornell University.
